    Corenna vs Expo EAS

EAS (Expo Application Services) is Expo's build, submit and update service, made for React Native and Expo apps and driven by the eas command-line tool. Corenna builds React Native apps too, plus Capacitor and Flutter, from the GitHub repo without a command line.

Everything about Expo EAS below comes from its own website, checked on 15 October 2026. Plans change, so check the links at the bottom before you decide.

    Frameworks

Corenna: Capacitor (including Lovable, Bolt, v0 and Replit web apps), Flutter and React Native, Expo included. Android builds create a missing android/ folder; iOS builds need ios/ committed.

Expo EAS: React Native, with or without the Expo SDK. Expo's docs say EAS Build is designed for any native project.

    Where builds run

Corenna: GitHub Actions in your own GitHub account. Corenna writes the workflow into your repo.

Expo EAS: Expo's build servers, or your own machine with eas build --local.

    Setup

Corenna: Paste the repo and add signing. No YAML or CLI to learn.

Expo EAS: The eas CLI and an eas.json file; builds can also start from GitHub or any CI.

    Price

Corenna: First successful Android build free, then $2.99/month with no per-build charge. Builds use your GitHub Actions minutes: free for public repos; private repos use your plan's included minutes, then $0.062 per macOS minute.

Expo EAS: Free: up to 15 Android and 15 iOS builds a month, low-priority queue. Starter $19/month and Production $199/month, plus $1–$2 per Android and $2–$4 per iOS build beyond the included credit.

    Google Play upload

Corenna: Yes: any track, with release notes.

Expo EAS: Yes, with EAS Submit, to the track you choose.

    App Store Connect upload

Corenna: No. You download the signed .ipa and upload it to App Store Connect.

Expo EAS: Yes, with EAS Submit; the build then appears in TestFlight.

    Live (OTA) updates

Corenna: No. Pair it with a live-update service if you need one.

Expo EAS: EAS Update: 1,000 monthly active users free, more on paid plans.

    Run it from a phone

Corenna: Yes. Built to run in a phone's browser, from repo to Google Play release.

Expo EAS: Builds start from the command line, a workflow or CI.

    Choose Expo EAS if

    • You build a managed Expo app for iOS without committing its ios/ folder. Corenna runs npx expo prebuild for Android builds, but an iOS build needs ios/ committed.
    • You want builds submitted to TestFlight and the App Store for you.
    • You want over-the-air updates from the same company that builds your app.
    • 15 iOS and 15 Android builds a month on the free plan are enough for you.

    Choose Corenna if

    • Your app is a Capacitor or Flutter app, which EAS is not made for.
    • You prefer the GitHub repo and a browser to a command-line tool.
    • You build often and want a flat monthly price instead of per-build charges past the included credit.
    • You want to run releases from your phone.

    See whether your repo builds

The free repo check reads your GitHub repo and tells you what Corenna would build and what is missing. No account needed.
